This section of the trail is the only part that really allows you to find the 'flow' and really get into the groove of fast riding. Its long, grassy slope lets one get up to speed and stay that way for the rest of the trail.

This is near the entrance to the addition that Sadie and I built that will take a different route through the jungle.

Note the root going diagonal to the trail on the second cut. I've slid out bunches of times while going really fast when its wet.

I think the DH section of the trail given the right conditions can be one of the most fun parts to ride. If your tires are biting deep, and the roots aren't too slippery you can basically fly. The corners aren't too tight so if you lean a little and trust your bikes ability to gain traction you will find that you are in a near effortless state of flow, a feeling where everything seems to feel just right and you feel on top of the world. I find putting a little more weight over the front of the bike helped my to keep the grip I needed, especially when wet.

However this section also can prove to be one of the most difficult, especially when ridden the uphill way. There is a straight grassy part that leads right up to the long, extended section of the trail that can just seem to suck away all your energy. More than once I found myself in the middle of the ride stopping to suck in lung fulls of air after sprinting up this part. At night though, the DH section offers one of the few clear views of the sky on the trail, and when the stars are out there just isn't much that tops that kind of sight.
