Nate Says:

The long downhill going counter-clockwise has two huge roots that confounded me for the longest time. They were practically impossible for me to ride going up and even more frightening to ride them fast going down. Before, when I was first starting to ride the trail, it was common for us to hit this one all the way on the right, where there is a small buildup of roots to 'climb' over the large ones. After learning the bike and the trail from riding it so many times, it became easier to hit it straight on and use body language to solve all my problems. Going down, however, took a lot more time to get the guts to jump over and trust my landing abilities. After I began doing that, I saved tons of time and effort trying to negotiate tricky roots and corners, just blast over them and let the suspension do the work. My suspension, for the longest time, was my low tire pressure. Not until I got my Prophet, did I really feel secure in jumping over this obsticle.
