Private vs. Public healthcare

I'm not going to pretend I know a lot about the current healthcare debate, but I do think it's important to hear the perspectives of individuals living in countries with alternative systems. Here is a link to what I consider to be a good post on a Canadian's opinion of public vs. private healthcare.

Holy weird website Sadie! Where did you find that blog, was it linked off of overthinkingparenting.com? I went there to read the healthcare article only to be greeted by a flood of boobs, all with parasitic organisms attached! Desecration I tell you, like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

I feel like if I were to were to mention milk formula to one of the chicks from that site she would slap me over the head with her left boob; a little attachement disipline with you will.

I suppose this is just another reason why the terrorists hate us; we have the luxury of spending all day wondering if the grimace on baby jonnie's face was because he needs to fart or he wasn't attachment-parented enough. Meanwhile, their kids are being force fed road kill insurgent.

But seriously though, that site is crazy. C-section crazy! Almost as crazy as the naturopath who gave me a cholesterol screening today. I'm going to go dig around in there some more, I'm convinced that if I look long enough I will find some placenta-based recipes.

Ha, funny Joel. Just wait until you have kids of your own, then you will see what all this is about. Or you could fork over a hefty ton of cash to formula feed your baby, who ends up sick all the time, and all of you are stressed out from the middle of the night attempts at making a bottle. Watch out, I think I might be swinging a boob your way! Anyways, I hope you do poke around a bit, maybe you could learn a thing or two.

On a more serious note, I think the person who commented about Australia's healthcare system has a good point. We could save a fortune if the healthcare professional we visit corresponds with our needs. There is no reason pediatrician's need to be doing routine Wellchild visits, or sports physicals. I am thinking maybe we should up and move to Australia. And maybe while I'm there I'll do some shredding with Sam Hill. Then I will have something Mountain bike related to post about.
