An Old Story

Biking to and from work was a fun challenge today seeing as how the winds were gusting up to 60 mph! Definetly a struggle to ride straight into, but when its at your back it seems like all effort is halfed.

I found an old story I wrote back in '01, for creative writing back at Skyview I think.

Work

Well, work started this week. I'm an ******. Theres a lot to learn, but so far I don't mind it. Most importantly I can bike to work and even take a shower there - which means I leave the apartment at about 7:30 and give myself about 30 minutes for the 5-6 mile ride and another half hour at work to shower and relax a bit before hitting it at 8:30. The ride in the morning is a bit cold at first, but I warm up quickly riding so hard. I don't deal with much traffic that early, but when I leave at 5:00pm after work its hell on the roads. Its completly black by then, and while I have my headlight and rear flasher there are almost always close calls - the drivers literally have no patience or peripheral vision. I hate cars. But a bad ride on the bike is better than a good one in the car.
