Fireworks

Tonight, as I was sitting down trying to think of what to do I felt a big explosion, and then another, and then many all at the same time. I ran outside to see what it was and my jaw dropped open because the sky was lit with beautiful colors.

Fireworks!

I biked down close to the beach and watched many beautiful fireworks being launched from Coconut Island. I had a perfect view of the display and as it went on, I couldn’t help but smile. I thought of many good memories, and I hoped for many more in the future. Living in America I know I have the opportunity, and I feel blessed because of that. My country has been guilty of bad things in the past, but I can always know we are collectively striving to become better, greater. Our openness and freedom of speech will protect us from terrible corruption, and will help keep tomorrow bright.

Biking, Thinking

Tomorow is July 4th, America's independence. I pondered my nation today as I biked out to Kulani forest. Once there, I did something I havent done before: I rode two 6 mile laps. It was a very tiring thing, but I felt alive after I finished. As I rode past the zoo, back towards Hilo I felt so good, nothing could take that feeling from me, I could almost fly. It was like all the positive experiences in my life all focused down into one point and then exploded. I felt great.

Back at the apartment I rested and ate a bunch of food since I was real hungry. Then as I began to start cleaning the kitchen I got a knock on my door. It was Mike, one of the people who runs the apartment complex. He gave me a letter from the manager which claimed a certain number of things about me which I did not do. Apparently I have a few days to pay a lot of money, or I get evicted.
